In seinem Mandelgarten stehen rund 50 B\u00e4ume. Es ist das Werk der letzten 20 Jahre, damals hat er die ersten B\u00e4ume importiert und gepflanzt. Er fand das interessant und probierte es aus. Normalerweise kommen Mandeln aus dem Nahen Osten \u2013 jetzt aus dem Wallis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die B\u00e4ume wuchsen, er holte mehr und mehr, jetzt z\u00fcchtet er rund 20 verschiedene Sorten. Das Experiment scheint zu funktionieren: Die Mandelb\u00e4ume wachsen auch in der eigentlich nicht sehr mediterranen Schweiz. \u00abDer Mandelbaum mag es trocken\u00bb, so Germann. Die Jungb\u00e4ume habe er noch mit Wasser versorgen m\u00fcssen, doch dieses Jahr konnte er ganz auf k\u00fcnstliche Wasserzufuhr verzichten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Im Wallis hat man dieses Jahr eine schlechte Ernte zu beklagen, wenn man die Klassiker des Kantons, also Aprikosen oder Trauben, anbaut. Aber auch der Mandelbauer hat einen Totalausfall.
