Die H\u00f6he dieser Kosten h\u00e4ngt davon ab, welche Auswirkungen einbezogen werden. Die Unterschiede k\u00f6nnen betr\u00e4chtlich sein.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Versteckte, externe oder wahre Kosten haben mittlerweile einen festen Platz in der Debatte \u00fcber nachhaltige Landwirtschaft und Ern\u00e4hrung. Zum Beispiel hat der deutsche Discounter Penny auf den Preisschildern ausgew\u00e4hlter Produkte deren wahre Kosten angezeigt und so deren H\u00f6he direkt beim Kauf bewusst gemacht (Penny, 2023). Auf internationaler Ebene hat sich die Weltern\u00e4hrungsorganisation der Vereinten Nationen FAO in ihren \u201eState of food and agriculture (SOFA)\u201c-Berichten 2023 und 2024 intensiv mit den versteckten Kosten auseinandergesetzt (FAO, 2023 und 2024). Die Zahlen sind jeweils erschreckend hoch. Die Penny-Initiative zeigte, dass die Produkte im Laden 30 bis 100 Prozent mehr kosten m\u00fcssten. Und auf nationaler Ebene machen diese Kosten signifikante Anteile des Bruttoinlandprodukts aus, etwa zehn Prozent (328 Mrd. Euro) f\u00fcr Deutschland, sieben Prozent (1 580 Mrd. US-Dollar) f\u00fcr die USA und vier Prozent (21 Mrd.
