Er baut zwischen den Reben verschiedene Fruchtb\u00e4ume an und f\u00f6rdert Flederm\u00e4use gegen die KEF. So kann er fl\u00e4cheneffizient und chemiefrei produzieren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Immer, nachdem er seine Reben mit Fungizid behandelt hatte, plagten Roland Lenz heftige Kopfschmerzen. Aspirin half. Bis Lenz auffiel, dass sowohl das Medikament als auch das Fungizid vom selben Hersteller stammen. \u00abF\u00fcr den Konzern geht das auf \u2013 f\u00fcr mich nicht\u00bb, so sein Fazit. An diesem Punkt stellte er 1995 die Bewirtschaftung seiner damals 6,5 ha Reben auf Bio um.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Die Piwis als L\u00f6sungsansatz auch nach dem \u00abJahr ohne Sommer\u00bb<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Im Jahr darauf, 1999, folgte das \u00abJahr ohne Sommer\u00bb. \u00abWir haben die Pelerine praktisch nur noch zum Schlafen abgelegt\u00bb, erinnert sich Roland Lenz. Auf 5 ha erlitt er Totalausfall, der Pflanzenschutz versagte bei den empfindlichen Rebsorten M\u00fcller-Thurgau und Pinot Noir. Die \u00fcbrigen Reben \u2013 pilzwiderstandsf\u00e4hige (Piwi-) Sorten \u2013 pr\u00e4sentierten sich hingehen gesund und wundersch\u00f6n. \u00abDie Piwi-Fl\u00e4chen haben uns gerettet\u00bb, meint der Winzer aus Uesslingen TG. Seither pflanzt er keine europ\u00e4ischen Traubensorten mit klingenden Namen mehr, er setzt bei der Erneuerung von Parzellen ausschliesslich auf krankheitsrobuste Piwi. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Als Bio-Weinbauer besch\u00e4ftigte Roland Lenz die Abdrift-Problematik. Um seine Reben von den konventionellen in der Nachbarschaft zu sch\u00fctzen, pflanzte er Hecken. Drei Reihen Rebst\u00f6cke mussten daf\u00fcr weichen. Doch Roland Lenz entdeckte bald einen anderen Effekt der Hecken in seinem Rebberg, die sich zunehmend mit Leben f\u00fcllten: \u00abIch konnte beim Arbeiten dort meine Batterien aufladen.\u00bb Er f\u00fchlte sich erholt, auch wenn er dieselben T\u00e4tigkeiten ausf\u00fchrte, die ihn<br>an anderer Stelle eher erm\u00fcdeten. \u00dcber die Jahre fanden immer mehr Insekten, V\u00f6gel, Reptilien und S\u00e4ugetiere im biodiversen Rebberg R\u00fcckzugsorte. \u00abHeute haben wir etwa 15 Rehe in den Reben\u00bb, bemerkt Lenz. Seitliche Netze verhindern, dass sich Rehe oder V\u00f6gel bei den reifen Trauben bedienen und sch\u00fctzen sie zus\u00e4tzlich vor Hagel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Betriebsspiegel Weingut Lenz:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Labels: Bioetico, Demeter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LN: 27 ha Reblagen <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7 Weing\u00e4rten, insgesamt 2500 Fruchtb\u00e4ume und 100 000 Piwis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>rund 80 verschiedene Weine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ackerbau: Fruchtfolge aus Getreide, Leguminosen, Buchweizen, \u00d6lsaaten<br>oder Hanf in flachen Parzellen zwischen den Reben<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arbeitskr\u00e4fte: Roland und Karin Lenz, 14 Schweizer Festangestellte (900 Stellenprozent)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Verbesserte Bodenfruchtbarkeit durch Verzicht auf Chemie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Er habe lange Zeit einfach biologische statt chemische Hilfsstoffe eingesetzt, meint der Winzer r\u00fcckblickend. \u00abIch bin nicht die Ursachen angegangen\u00bb Durch die Behandlung seiner Pinot-Noir-Reben mit Kupfer oder Schwefel statt chemischer Wirkstoffe seien die Pflanzenschutz-Probleme zwar kleiner geworden, das Bodenleben habe aber weiterhin unter den fungiziden Spritzungen gelitten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ein neuer BLW-Kulturcode<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Feldkulturen, N\u00fcsse und Fruchtb\u00e4ume diversifizieren nicht nur das Leben im Rebberg und Lenz\u2019 Angebot, sondern sind auch f\u00fcr die Mitarbeitenden attraktiv, ist er \u00fcberzeugt. Agrarpolitisch fallen seine Weing\u00e4rten allerdings durch die Maschen, denn B\u00e4ume geh\u00f6ren nicht in einen Rebbaukataster.
