Wer also nicht nur im Besitz von Wald, sondern auch von landwirtschaftlicher Fl\u00e4che ist, aufgepasst: Je nach Anbausystem liefern B\u00e4ume weit mehr als Holz, N\u00fcsse und Fr\u00fcchte. Als Teil multifunktionaler Systeme wie Waldg\u00e4rten, Tr\u00fcffelplantagen oder Agroforst unterst\u00fctzen sie die Produktion von Lebensmitteln wie Pilze, Beeren, Gem\u00fcse und Kr\u00e4utern. Um das volle Potenzial von B\u00e4umen auszusch\u00f6pfen, wird auf Altbew\u00e4hrtes zur\u00fcckgegriffen, teils weiterentwickelt und neu benannt. Agroforst ist eine Kombination von Geh\u00f6lzen mit Ackerbau oder Weidewirtschaft auf derselben Fl\u00e4che und bringt B\u00e4ume in die Landwirtschaft zur\u00fcck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die beiden Haupttypen der Agroforstwirtschaft sind die silvoarablen und silvopastoralen Systeme. Ersteres bezeichnet B\u00e4ume auf dem Acker, Letzteres B\u00e4ume auf der Weide. Diese traditionelle Form der Landbewirtschaftung wird schon seit Jahrtausenden \u00fcberall auf der Welt betrieben. In der Schweiz kommt sie haupts\u00e4chlich in Form der Waldweiden im Jura, der Kastanienselven im Tessin oder der klassischen Hochstamm-Obstg\u00e4rten vor. Durch die Mechanisierung und zunehmende Trennung von Waldbewirtschaftung, Ackerbau und Tierhaltung verschwanden B\u00e4ume und Str\u00e4ucher aus der Landschaft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In der Schweiz machen Agroforstbetriebe etwa 9% der landwirtschaftlichen Nutzfl\u00e4che aus, teilt das Bundesamt f\u00fcr Umwelt BAFU auf Anfrage mit. Biobauer Meinrad Betschart-Waser in Rickenbach (SZ) ist einer davon. Er betreibt seit Fr\u00fchling 2022 eine ein Hektar grosse Agroforstanlage. Diese besteht aus 50 Hochstamm-Obstb\u00e4umen, 20 Nutzholzarten sowie 80 Hecken und Weidenstr\u00e4uchern. \u00abMein Sohn studierte Agrotechnik und schrieb seine Arbeit \u00fcber Agroforst. Das System ergibt Sinn, und so bepflanzten wir unseren besten Bl\u00e4tz\u00bb, sagt Betschart-Waser. Um die Wurzeln vor M\u00e4usen zu sch\u00fctzen, setzten die Biobauern bei jedem Geh\u00f6lz einige Knoblauch- oder Zwiebelknollen. Ihr Geruch h\u00e4lt Sch\u00e4dlinge fern. Gegen Wildfrass haben sie die jungen Pflanzen mit einem biologischen Mittel auf Basis von Schaffett eingerieben.
